‘Klinsmann’s opponent’ Peru coach: “I know SON is out…but I have a replacement”

Peru national team head coach Juan Reynoso (52) has high praise for the South Korean national soccer team ahead of their upcoming match.

The South Korean national soccer team, led by head coach Jürgen Klinsmann (59), will play Peru in an A-match trial at the Busan Asiad Stadium at 8 p.m. on Sept. 16.

Speaking at a press conference at Busan Asiad Stadium on Friday at 7:30 p.m., Peru head coach Juan Reynoso (52) said, “This is my first time in Korea. I’m very happy. I respect the team. They are a good team that has been to the World Cup. I’m looking forward to a good match,” he said.

Below is a one-on-one interview with Coach Reynoso.

The Peruvian roster is missing some key players. Gianluca Lapadula and Luis Advincula are missing. On how the team will play.

-We’re missing five of our regular players, we’re aware of that. I hope the other players will take this opportunity to show their quality. We have new players with potential. I’m looking forward to them.

There are a lot of absences on the right side. How to replace them.

-Christopher Olivares will play on the flank.

Lapadula is out. We have problems in the forward line. Paolo Guerrero has returned to the national team after a long absence. I think he’ll want to play. Will he play tomorrow?

-Guerrero will most likely return to the starting lineup. You want a fresh start for this player. He’s been away from the national team for a long time. I’m looking forward to it. We’ll see how he trains today, but I’m sure he’ll be amazing. I’m rooting for a new start and looking forward to it.

Lapadula won the league last week. He promoted Cagliari from Serie B to A. He’ll celebrate with the team and bask in the joy before joining the squad for the game against Japan. “I’m coming back to the team after winning the league, so it’s important for me to have time to adjust to the team again.
