“The captaincy won’t change me,” says famed Man Utd leader Fernandes

Bruno Fernandes, 28, is the new leader of Manchester United.

“We are delighted to announce the appointment of midfielder Fernandes as the new captain of our club,” the club said on its official website on Wednesday. The Portuguese international has already worn the captain’s armband (temporarily) on several occasions. Manager Eric ten Hagh has now confirmed that he will lead the team as permanent captain.”

Since joining the club in 2020, Fernandes has scored 64 goals and provided 54 assists in 185 games. He was considered a strong candidate for the captaincy, not only for his on-field skills, but also for his off-field friendliness and leadership.

The final decision was not made by the players, but by Coach Ten Haag. Ten Haag chose him without a second thought, and he is the new captain.

“It’s a big responsibility, but it’s already a big responsibility to be part of this club, so I know that (playing for United, regardless of the captaincy) will be the same for me. I’m not going to change, I’m going to maintain the same standards and try to do my best as I did when I wasn’t captain,” he said in his release. 안전놀이터

“Obviously, it’s a really beautiful moment for me and for my family. But (being captain) is not something you dream about, because it’s higher than your dreams, it’s just something that makes you feel proud of everything we’ve done.

It’s a big responsibility, but it’s already a big responsibility to be part of this club, so I know (playing for United, regardless of the captaincy) will be the same for me. I’m not going to change, I’m going to keep the same standards and try to give my best as I did when I wasn’t captain.
